Íà ôóíäàìåíòû  èëè ñïåöèàëüíûå íåñóùèå êîíñòðóêöèè õèìè÷åñêèå àïïàðàòû óñòàíàâëèâàþòñÿ ñ ïîìîùüþ îïîð.  çàâèñèìîñòè îò ðàáî÷åãî ïîëîæåíèÿ àïïàðàòà ðàçëè÷àþò îïîðû äëÿ ãîðèçîíòàëüíûõ è âåðòèêàëüíûõ àïïàðàòîâ.

Âåðòèêàëüíûå àïïàðàòû îáû÷íî óñòàíàâëèâàþò èëè íà ñòîéêàõ, êîãäà èõ ðàçìåùàþò âíèçó â ïîìåùåíèè, èëè íà ïîäâåñíûõ ëàïàõ, êîãäà àïïàðàò ðàçìåùàþò ìåæäó ïåðåêðûòèÿìè â ïîìåùåíèè.
